Exhaustion.

Working with clients can be extremely exhausting. Sometimes you just have to push through. How do you make people understand things when they aren’t willing to try or put in the effort that they need/have to. You can repeat yourself a thousand times and it will not make a difference. After training all day…with multiple tangents on random issues that have yet to be discussed, I came back to the hotel to respond to emails from other clients. After getting caught up on emails I began to work on form development for once client when I got interrupted by a phone call from their project manager. After over an hour and a half of conversation….I slumped into bed to watch what remained of one of my tv shows. An hour later….I’m on the phone again with Thomas. About 30 minutes later…here I sit in bed….about to pass out. I haven’t done a lot of work…but I sure have been busy. My throat hurts and I hope I can make it through the rest of the week without getting sick. Please please please!!!

People think traveling for work is all fun and games. I hate to break it to you….but it’s not the truth. It can be…and we make the most of it…but it’s normally exhausting. One of my fellow consultants…sent out an email last night with pictures of her recent bed bug outbreak. That’s the reality. Not sitting on the beach working.

All things considered….and bad experiences aside….it’s definitely worth it. I do love my job.

Understanding.

Why is it so hard? Issues, issues and more issues. When things are this hard you really start to wonder if it’s really worth it. Is it really worth all of this pain? Is it worth all of this grief? You try so hard but nothing will make it better; nothing will make it easier. What happens when compromises aren’t enough? What happens when it just isn’t enough? What happens?
